So...any time you can smell the gas vapors, under any circumstances, there is a chance it could ignite. Is this LIKELY to happen with your cell phone....no the chances are extremely remote as to be non existent. You're probably more likely to cause an ignition through static electricity by reentering and leaving your vehicle while you're pumping. Of course Ivr seen people actually smoking cigarettes at the pump and there was no explosion obviously, so cell phones are way down the list of worries.
