But some people think they are different because the idea is absentee means you have a legit reason and its limited to people who literally can't vote in person. Meaning it takes an ounce of effort to get to vote. Where as the democrats want to mail out ballots to every registered voter, including those who wouldnt have taken the initiative to request one. Its essentially a low key form of voter suppression. But they will argue that in theory means its more likely that someone who isnt registered accidentally gets one in the mail and could then lead to more voter fraud? which considering how many stimulus checks got sent to dead people I can kind of see their point.
