Let's reminisce a little while travel is dicey/discouraged.

I'll start with my least favorite: Clearwater/St. Petersburg Airport (PIE). The TSA line was pandemonium when I went there - and since Allegiant is the main airline flying out of there, you know the counter lines were even worse. But flying in/out of this airport is dirt cheap, so I'd do it again.

One of my favorites is Ted Stevens Airport in Anchorage, AK. They designed the overhead lights in the airside corridors to resemble the Northern Lights, and it makes for an incredibly cool and peaceful ambiance. Plus, you get to eat reindeer sausage and drink Alaskan craft beer while you're there - you can never go wrong with either.

I also love Dallas Fort-Worth, particularly for their food/drink options and SkyLink, which I consider the gold standard for transport between terminals.

Their international terminal (D) is really astonishing. Wonderful place to relax on a layover.

Also, Cousins BBQ in the B terminal is some of the best BBQ I've ever had.

Pearson in Toronto was the worst one ive been to. The only airport i was at where, between connecting flights, you had to pick up your luggage and check it in to the next one yourself.

That resulted in a really hairy day where my connecting flight was leaving an hour after my first flight landed. So i had to pick up my luggage, get through a stupidly long security line, and literally sprint to THE OTHER SIDE OF THE AIRPORT to make it and by the grace of god, i did.

I hate Pearson.

Best: Brisbane (has a well designed departure lounge overlooking the main area), Kuala Lumpur (has these cool minature trains which take you between terminals)

Worst: Heathrow, Melbourne (both frequently have awful queues)

The Atlanta airport sucked the time I was there and that was a few years ago.

@Ryven - That's insane! I would have been incensed. The only time I've ever had to pick up my luggage between flights was at Chicago O'Hare, and that's because I was there for 15 hours. >_> (They make you go to baggage claim if you're waiting longer than 12.)

@Joelypoely - You weren't kidding, those Brisbane lounges look really impressive.

Indianapolis airport is great and fast. Hartford airport is great and fast, Detroit is solid, JFK and LaGuardia are crowded, I think La Guardia was faster for me though
