I could have never predicted it would become as enormous as it did but a lot of people got their panties in a bunch whenever I said it will probably be moderately successful at the box office.

I was a serious doubter, i'll admit it. I'm a Marvel fanboy so I was never real negative about it, but I said many times that GotG was going to end the streak and it wasn't gonna be nearly as quality as the recent predecessors because no one really knew the characters. I'm really glad I was wrong, because it was fantastic.

Nobody said that about Iron man. Iron man was in the avengers cartoon and had his own show. GotG were nobodies until the movies.

like the movies are great but i havent watched even half of them
guardians of the galaxy was seriously awesome though

nobody really even cared about GotG before the movie, it didn't have the baggage that other franchises have to deal with

Dragon Flyz had their own show in the 90s. That's not a mark of cultural relevancy lol.

The only Marvel properties anybody gave a damn about before the MCU were Spider-Man and the X-Men. Maybe the Hulk if you were a Gen Xer that grew up with the Bill Bixby show. >_>

Keep in mind, the only reason they bothered with a D-lister like Iron Man is because they had sold off the rights to X-Men and Spider-Man after going bankrupt. <_<
