talking about it in general not just her case. pretty much all these white ppl telling others to go back to their country like their ancestors didnt come from some other countries

only way to justify it is if some Chinese-American calls out some CCP-sympathiser and tells them to go back to their country if they love the CCP so much

Human freedom index says the following:
Romania: 8.11
USA: 8.46

Just to compare those to a few other countries:
China: 6.17
Poland: 7.78
France: 8.02
UK: 8.47
Sweden: 8.50
Germany: 8.53
Australia: 8.62
Canada: 8.65
Switzerland: 8.82

I don't trust that index--what exactly are they using to quantify freedom?

The Human Freedom Index presents the state of human freedom in the world based on a broad measure that encompasses personal, civil, and economic freedom. Human freedom is a social concept that recognizes the dignity of individuals and is defined here as negative liberty or the absence of coercive constraint. Because freedom is inherently valuable and plays a role in human progress, it is worth measuring carefully. The Human Freedom Index is a resource that can help to more objectively observe relationships between freedom and other social and economic phenomena, as well as the ways in which the various dimensions of freedom interact with one another.

The index published here presents a broad measure of human freedom, understood as the absence of coercive constraint. This fifth annual index uses 76 distinct indicators of personal and economic freedom in the following areas:
  • Rule of Law
  • Security and Safety
  • Movement
  • Religion
  • Association, Assembly, and Civil Society
  • Expression and Information
  • Identity and Relationships
  • Size of Government
  • Legal System and Property Rights
  • Access to Sound Money
  • Freedom to Trade Internationally
  • Regulation of Credit, Labor, and Business

I'm questioning why "freedom" would be the measure in which one compares countries in attempt to say the United States is better than other places right now.

The United States has put on a show for the world on how not to handle a global pandemic and we sure as hell don't have very many freedoms right now as a result.

Thanks for the summary. I now remember reading this before. I still feel many countries, including the US, seem to score higher than what I would feel is accurate, assuming it's on a scale of 1-10.

Only Native Americans can say go back to your country but there are so few of them left, at least full blooded Native Americans, that they literally have zero power of any level. I'd even say Native Americans are extinct because their culture and language was erased. Thrown out like how garbage is thrown out.

In my limited experience it's a pretty common thing for people from the former soviet bloc. They are vocal opponents of any sort of illegal migration.

Ironically the ones I've interacted with are also ardent trump supporters.

It's like they moved to the US but want to build the soviet union here.

"Go back to your fucking country"

https://nextshark.com/nail-salon-racist-rant-asian-american-manicurist/

this is very important. This exemplified something I have been saying all along.

far-right people nationwide have been going on and on and on like a scratched record about illegal immigration, patriotism, American culture, and taking care of our citizens first.

the thing is that their concept of the above terms does not match what normal people understand by them.

take a look at the Russian woman who called the cops on a black woman sitting on a sidewalk in NYC. Take a look at the Canadian woman who called the police at a man in Central Park because he told her to leash her dog. Now this Romanian woman makes it even more clear for us. To the far right:

If you come from another (non-US) country, but you are white, you are already an American, immigration status be dammed, and you can tell the nasty immigrants to leave YOUR country. And my immigrants they mean minorities, no matter how many generations their ancestors have been here, like this US born American woman of Asian descent.

Dont let the fact that the far-right hides their racist ideas behind colorblind terms such as immigration status or American culture, their actions show you what they really think.

why would a Romanian immigrant have the right to tell a US BORN of Asian descent to leave her (the Romanians) country?

its not just in her head, she got this idea from somewhere, just like Central Park Amy and the other Russian lady from the NYC sidewalk.

this mindset should be kept in mind every time you hear the MAGA stance on anything race or immigration related

this has an explanation. See post 30.

its not really about illegal immigration, or even immigration: this nail technician and the black woman from NYC were both given the leave my country treatment and they were both born here.

far-right people (many of them happen to be Eastern European and also trump supporters) just feel they have a right to be here because theyre white and they minorities do not have a right to be here, legal status be dammed.

Yep. I've noticed that they are all for illegal immigration even if it's White Europeans.

Foreign White people have more of a claim to America than American-born minorities do, according to them.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious that a lot of anti-immigration people are just dog-whistling and are really just anti-nonwhites coming into the country.

Not only that but it's kind of funny since the modern connotations of 'white' are different from what they were a century ago. Back then, pretty much anyone who wasn't a WASP was considered 'non-white'. So back then, they wouldn't even be welcome here. lol

we cant (and should not) generalize, but the truth is that a high proportion of eastern Europeans, irish-Americans and Italian-Americans are the biggest offenders when it comes to this ideology, and the most ironic thing about it is that Slavs (such as Russians), Italians and Irish were NOT considered white too long ago.

every time I see the jack posoviecs, joe arpaios and Paul ryans of the world go full racist I raise an eyebrow internally since they would have been in the line of fire just a few decades ago too.

They really like to internalize that shit and project unto others. They hold on to their whiteness so fucking hard, which, as we know, is a social construct anyway. Reminds me of Hispanics, especially white Hispanics, who are still super racist against the blacks, Asians, etc., when it's like...a good chunk of white America hates YOU. lol

the White hispanic thing weirds me off. There are even guys like nick fuentes
that become white supremacist activists.

Hispanics are sort of like how Irish and Italians were in the beginning of the 20th century, not white but in the course of becoming white. But then trump happened and now that ship has sailed.

this is another weird thing: Russia or countries like that are not necessarily Christian, theyre not Western European, many use a different alphabet and their language is too different from western euro languages. Yet the far right claims American culture is their culture as soon as they get here.

other people, like Hispanics are catholic, use the same alphabet and have been here for generations yet the far right will go muh culture! On them
