Why not make a wired controller that can just plug in play

They definitely sell wired controllers that need no adapter, because I'm plugged into my PC with one right now.

If you get a 360 controller it has to be a wired controller out of the box.
If you get an X1 controller you can use literally any micro-USB cable you most certainly already have if you own any non-Apple devices to connect it to the computer.
