1). The main reason this has been over hyped is because of the blue wall narrative. Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan were never solid democratic states, yesss for Obama, but not for Kerry or Al gore. Look at the results from 2004 and 2000, the results were pretty competitive, especially for Wisconsin.

2). Hillary Clinton is a water/flying type and Trump is an electric.. Trump's campaign completely countered Hillary's campaign at the time and Hillary thought she was Obama in which she was far from it.

Why is this year different? Trump is not running against Hillary Clinton!

People wanted a change from the generic politician and Trump was that. Hillary was the definition of a generic politician.

Turns out Trump was still all the bad parts of a generic politician though, with none of the good parts.

People would not mind having a generic politician again after a term of Trump.

I think the 538 backpedaling centered on a combo of 1) how pollsters couldnt get random people they called to admit that they were going to vote for Trump since it was considered shameful in a lot of traditionally blue areas; and 2) the margins of error in state polling were largely ignored by media, who just took a positive in HRCs direction as a done deal no matter what in their projections.

Was anyone actually influenced by russian hacking? Most of the propaganda out there appears to be by americans. These russian propaganda machines I'd like to see what it actually is because they don't really give examples. Like what is it? I googled and it was some memes they released I never even saw before but i'm not searching the internet for trump propaganda. I see it all the time anyways and it appears to be just american bigotry.

I'd be more concerned if they were actually manipulating results. It seems to me like Americans themselves did enough bullying online. And all sense was lost.
