18 y/o Giovanna "Gia" Fuda from Seattle was MISSING for EIGHT days in the WOODS after she was miraculously found safe where she said she ate berries and CREEK WATER to survive after getting lost when her car ran out of gas!!

She disappeared on July 24th after going for coffee as her car was found out of gas on a highway. Rescue crews spent more than a week searching the area and were beginning to lose hope when they finally spotted her near a ravine deep in the woods Saturday afternoon

Sgt. Ryan Abbot said "We are absolutely thrilled to know that search and rescue located her alive. She's in stable condition. She is with ehr parents and being transported to hospital. This is a very rare, it is definitely a miracle"

She was last seen on footage from the coffee shop before her abandoned car was found as they were unable to track her through her phone since it was either turned off or didn't have a signal.

They initially labeled it as "suspicious" but then they believed she got lost and went to look for help and got lost in the woods

After days of searching they found clues with her notebook belonging to her and then found several items of closhing before spotting her up 2 miles up a steep embankment

When they first found her she was not able to coherently explain what happened other than "i don't know where i am" and they are letting her recuperate with family until she can explain what happened

Her family feared for the worst but said they are extremely thankful she was found as law enforcement was prepared to END the search in the coming days

Apparently it was 10 miles to the gas station and cell phone service out there is almost nonexistent. But none of that explains why the search party didn't send a boat down the river.

She didn't want to just wait or return to the car? I mean is this a straight up abandoned highway, and she didn't think anyone would find her in time? If she went out for just coffee, that sounds like some kind of routine passage unless she literally lives in the middle of nowhere and it was some kind of 100 mile trip. She should obviously know the way home....

And then there was apparently a clothes trail?

Sorry, but unless there's a curveball of an explanation, this doesn't sit straight imo.

Its hard to imagine how this happens even if copious amounts of drugs were involved. Really strange story.

I know what youre talking about and its interesting but also the reason people disappear in national parks is people are dumb and its a massive area to search and one in which you could walk within feet of a person and not see them if they arent capable of calling out to you.

This is bizarre.

Putting these reasons aside, I'm glad she was able to survive on her own and hopefully this experience teaches her to be more aware and alert the next time she gets to drive.

What do you mean? Like she was on drugs?

I don't think that can coincide with a car with an empty gas tank.

I checked the area on Google Maps. There's railings the entire way to the area where she was found. Maybe she wandered into the forest for some reason and then it just went downhill from there. Nonetheless, she was still found close to where the highway route would have kept going.

I like this explanation the best. Im going to add that there was a fat J involved also, as that would explain the getting lost part.

Im also assuming she started walking when she realized she had no service. Im just surprised that no other cars came by before nature called. Although, shit, in this day and age she may have been diving into the woods to hide every time a car was coming. It is Green River territory after all.

these are the Cascades mountains, I highly doubt it's a wide, slow moving river... it's probably a creek raging down through the rainforest. You can't just "take a boat"

It's also not just a wide open forest. You walk 10 ft into that place and it's like a time warp and you can easily lose where you came in
