He's got some serious performance anxiety issues which cause him to have stress that spirals out of control because he's worried that new chapters will be disappointing. It gets so bad that it causes physical stomach and back problems so he ends up having to take time off to recover, but then when he comes back he gets stressed out even more quickly because he knows people have been waiting for a new chapter. it could also be that he's just lazy and has an incredibly flexible contract with shonen jump. He's already probably rich because of the series that he's written and he's married to the woman who created Sailor Moon so the fact that neither of them have to work ever again probably factors in a bit. --- "History Is Much Like An Endless Waltz. Well yeah, you're probably right. If we take this to hardcore analysis, he's always ended the acts feeling as if the characters didn't fulfill their tasks. This is seen very much in the first version so it would make sense to accept that finally an arc truly had the sensation of being finished for good.
