While this is true it actually had nothing to do with barrel or Sephiroth, but rather a condition I enforced on myself for the people that didn't support Tidus- for the voter base that hates him such as Inviso and Karo among others. Basically it's like this: in exchange for not blitzing Tidus in the final by using all their votes on Kefka I promised I wouldn't support Tidus after the boot rounds for the subsequent two contests. In other words, don't get in Tidus's way this contest and you won't have to worry about him putting up numbers for the next couple of contests.

I had no obligation to uphold this promise of course, but I'm a woman of my word and not a villain so I did it anyway. I thought it was a fair tradeoff. It may have messed up his STATS a bit, but ultimately I think it worked out in my favor as it continues to be the only real success I've ever had in this contest (which is why I get super bummed out when the character I have pushed from the beginning of the contest gets stopped short just before the end [e.g. Sephiroth in Steiner vs. Lightning, and Auron in Lightning vs. Edward] or a push doesn't even get particularly close to victory [e.g. Yuna or Seymour])

Fun fact: in all but one of the examples I listed (Yuna), Sir Chris has played a key role in completely shattering my hopes and dreams either directly, or in Seymour's case indirectly via pushing Vincent over him. While I no longer hold a grudge for these transgressions I'm not so keen on working with him either because of this history. I'd rather just do my own thing and see how far it gets me ha ha.

and then I put a curse on barrel for pulling a top 10 anime betrayal and costing Locke the title a few years later #neverforget

But your curse ended up in Auron and Jecht getting hard booted afterwards. Is that really a net gain? Don't tell me you prefer Locke over Auron!

I don't go hard on him but I don't go hard on anyone really I'm good for one save more often than not and that's it. I mean I don't save Seph in early rounds often cause he doesn't really need the saves usually (and cause I tend to miss a lot of early rounds) but if he's there late in the round I'll throw him one.

Of course you have in general. I've only been a B8 member since 2010. I meant for THAT CONTEST in which Sephy placed 3rd specifically. Barrel and I were the only ones on that train from Day 1 as far as I remember.

I mean, actually yes that has to be it. I like Yuna mind you but Rikku has been my favorite since I played FFX way back in the day and that has never really changed. She hits the perfect mix of energetic but sincere and her look in FFX is fantastic.

I mean do what you like. I'm not petty enough to hop OFF a train just because someone I have a less than ideal history with is onboard. I'm just saying if you had the idea first I'd be more apprehensive to go along with it. As it stands I think Roba was the first to mention YRP and I already had a "Girl Power" theme in mind for next contest so may as well.

Mind you that doesn't mean I'd be supporting any females from FF- only the ones I actually like, and YRP fits the bill perfectly. I'd probably be maining Rikku since I've already been there/done that for Yuna to disasterrific results, and don't think Paine has got what it takes to make a deep run so there you go.
