So I'm moving in the next few day, somewhere far enough away from civ that even postmates doesn't deliver there (so def no uber eats).

I decided to order from Salamone's one more time, even though it's A: pizza...which is bad for me and B: Super expensive.

I ordered like normal, it was ready in a normal amount of time, but then the driver took about 15 minutes to get there after it said he was picking up the order. I pretty much know why that is now.

AFTER he picked up the order, it said he was delivering one more item before me, it zoomed in so I couldn't see the driver anymore, and it went from 11 minutes (how long it takes to get to my place from Salamones) up to 15 minutes, but then continued to increase as he drove further away from me (not that I could see that).

After about 10 more minutes, it zero'd out at 17 minutes and stayed there for a few, before heading in my direction. The total time for delivery was inside the HUGE delivery time range they give, but way past the estimated time they originally gave me (by over 30 minutes).

He got here and the pizza is stone cold, which since I get just cheese pizza from them, and it isn't nearly as good reheated, really makes it a wasted $35.

Anyway I normally tip 15% and that is the auto amount on my order, but I checked and I can change that amount within 1 hour of delivery. Now normally if it's a delivery from the same place, uber eats discounts the delivery fee or waves it. Since it was obviously 2 different place (hence it taking so long for the guy to pick up my order), they didn't discount it at all.

My first reaction is to reduce the tip from $5 to just $2.50 since I'm guessing he got a tip from that other guy as well, but...he is also busting his but driving around delivering food for people while the virus is out there, so should that balance this out? It's only 2.50, and it might make him feel bad if he gets that low of a tip.

At the same time, I don't think that was right, I'm sure the other guys food was freaking cold as well, because he picked it up then drove all the way over to my resteraunt and got my food, it was a good 30 minutes between him getting the first order and deliverying it (at least).

So what would you do? Would you just tip the same amount you usually do? Should I mention something on my review of the order? Are there any actual uber eats drivers out there that can give me some perspective from the drivers side?

It just seems wrong to me to take two orders obviously fairly far away like that.

I almost always get cold food from delivery drivers. It's the nature of the business. Don't be a jerk, he's probably really busy. Tip the guy better, ok?

EDIT: throw the pizza in the oven on low for a few minutes. That's what I usually do, ok?

Yeah, I just reheated the pieces I ate, and it wasn't too bad, but it still isn't the same...it's diff if you have more than just cheese, but reheating cheese that has fully cooled down, is never the same (I wish it was).

It actually wasn't as bad as if I had put it in the fridge over night, but yeah, it didn't have the same flavor/consistancy etc if it had been still soft/stretchy etc after being originally cooked. Since it's my last pizza from them ever, that is really dissapointing. Also I pay for tripple freaking cheese, which increase the price from 22$ base to 28$ base (2$ per topping) I do that cause I love their cheese lol.

So yeah, it really detracted from the enjoyment, but screw it, I'm just gonna leave it like it is. I am gonna comment about it though, maybe actually tipping him the full amount but expressing my displeasure will actually make a stronger impact.

Probably not, but whatever, dude is out there busting his but and I'm lazy getting food delivered to me, ain't gonna make his life harder.

Still wouldn't mind hearing from any uber/postmates drivers cause there is no way the driver didn't know the food was gonna be cold for us, not sure what his reasoning was. Maybe he just hasn't been tipped alot lately and said screw it.

Lol, update, I tried like 20 different ways, they have no customer service number, no way to email and no way to leave a comment. I mean you basically are just done once you ordered, you can do some automatic complaints but it doesn't give you the option to add anything.

Whatever, I'm done....that was dumb though.
