Both were rock bands that loved out of the box chords and time signatures. Overall though, I'm happy with how many of you seem to like Rush. I think as time goes on they will be recognized as one of the "big" important bands, like Zeppelin, The Beatles, Sabbath etc. Just amazing guys who wanted to write great music. I'll take this fantastic youtube comment about Geddy but it applies to all three guys: "Geddy disproves the notion that an artist has to be eccentric, or short tempered, or ego driven. He's a talented guy who developed his skills through years of hard work and it paid off, and fame didn't go to his head. No stories of drug abuse or alcoholism. No self pity about the trauma of success. He's an inspiration and a role model. One of the few." They are also silently one of the most charitable bands in Rock music history.
