it is and it isn't. I would rather just have FF7 with updated graphics, bug fixes, and maybe a little more end game content. I still enjoyed FF7R for what it was, but as i'm fighting with the stupidity of the pc port of FF7, i just want to play FF7 on a modern machine without all the stupidity and it would be nice to also have a prettier experience and some more end game content.

I enjoyed ninety percent of the game. I really enjoyed it. It was that other ten perfect that was total bullshit.

I loved the battle system, loved the expanded story, the expanded character development, the new characters and the old. Most of the game was amazing. It think the changes for the most part worked, the expanded moments were great.

But then there is that ten percent. If these were little issues it wouldn't bother me. Stuff like the game forcing the characters to move at a snails pace at times to pad the game out, that was annoying but fine. Then there are the Arbiters of Fate. Oh man these are horrible. I get the idea, here is An outside force trying to make sure history unfold the way it's suppose to. Keeping huge changes from happening. It feels like a meta commentary from the developers, saying "we want to change things more but fan expectation is holding us back." And with the AoF gone the later games will change more things and not follow the story as closely. And I'm fine with thay. I am not fine with how they did it.

The story went off the rails and it makes me fearful of part two.

I thoroughly enjoyed the game up to the last 20%. Everything from the start of the Shinra tower to the conclusion was a slog that I couldn't wait to be finished.

Oddly enough, I felt kind of the opposite. Maybe it was just because I didn't want to miss anything, but I felt like the game regularly kneecapped itself in terms of pacing by dropping you in a hub with a giant pile of incredibly boring side quests with stories that didn't matter and characters that were barely designed and poorly voice-acted.

I felt like the game got a lot better once I had finished the last side quest because it felt like a much tighter narrative with better pacing.

I thought it was overall awesome. Not flawless. Aerial combat was a mess and some parts dragged. Still, it was a good time.

I knew what I was getting into for the most part, so no. I enjoyed it a lot.

Ending is up in the air depending on how they approach future parts. I don't want the story to diverge too far from the original.

It really wasnt very good. Had nice prerendered back grounds. That's the best I can say about it.
