Not counting Kobe

For me, it's definitely Bill Paxton. Just so out of the blue.

Chester Bennington. It wasn't completely shocking in insight but at the time I didn't expect it.

Tony Gwynn for me. I had no idea he was suffering from oral cancer at the time. And yes, he used chewing tobacco when he played baseball.

Probably Chris Cornell. But after his death, I could kinda see it. I saw him live like a week or two before he died and he just seemed really out of it. He was off key a bunch and seemed kinda doped up

I know you said not counting Kobe but, Kobe passing actually bothered me for a good couple days man if not a week. And weeks after caught myself thinking damn hes gone. And I only say that because I dont know the dude personally so was surprised it had me feeling like that,

aside from Kobe though I would say Chester Bennington. Mainly cause linkin park was a major part of my teenage angst years

I only said not Kobe so other names would get brought up, otherwise he'd win in a landslide.

I'm not even a basketball fan, but Kobe was a landmark of the world I knew growing up. I don't think any other celebrity death has made me feel so mortal.
