I feel kinda bad about Konami profiting off the series in the wake of their exit from the video games market, with their only other output being basic port collections, mobile games that are filled with microtransactions, and a small handful of arcade franchises which utilise subscription services and premium currency on top of your standard pay-to-play mechanics. If there's any gaming company that can be called greedy through and through, it's Konami - and a part of me would rather just let them leech on their other revenue streams and hopefully die out one day.

On the other hand, I've been playing Phantom Pain on PS3 lately, and I would LOVE if that game got a Switch port. All I would ever need on my Switch is Fallout 3, Skyrim and MGS5/PW.

Mgs4 you'll need a ps3 for.

EDIT I just checked the HD collection is available on gamepass but only 2 and 3

I think all those are really expensive now. And none of those are PS4/XBone releases.

MGS1-3 should all be pretty easy to emulate if you're willing to go that route with digital backups of say loose PS2 discs you find on eBay or something. They're also available on Vita, but idk how they run. 4 is a little harder.

Edit: oh yeah, I forgot the XBone could play 360 games.

Why? They still play fine. Hell, 2 & 3 still look great on the HD versions.

You can play every single one on the PS3 and you can play all of them besides 1 and 4 on the Xbox One right now. Hell you can even play at least 2&3 on PlayStation Now if youre truly desperate.

They dont need remade, if anything a remake of MG1/2 could be cool but after whats been happening lately with bad remakes I kind of dont want them to touch anymore classics. The gameplay of MGS1 holds up, and everything else past it just gets more and more modern feeling. Theres nothing to fix.

That's why when I did my replay of the series a few years back I actually dug out my Gamecube and played The Twin Snakes. I just could not handle the aiming in the original version of the game.

I just don't agree at all tbh. You hold the button for half a second and it locks to the nearest enemy. Maybe the FAMAS sucks, but the pistol fires as fast as you hit the button and takes enemies out in 3 shots. The VR missions expansion require much more precise control than anything you do in the campaign and the controls work just fine there.

Meh, it's mostly just laziness. After spending the last 17 years getting used to style that was introduced in MGS2 it was unpleasant to try and go back to it, especially knowing that about the time I was going to get used to it again I would no longer be using it because I would be done with that game. Plus it gave me an excuse to get out my GameCube.

Took me a few hours to get into mgs1but the gameplay isnt horrible to adjust to especially compared to other shooters on the ps1 it holds up pretty well actually.
