As the US hit a sobering 4 million cases of Covid-19 and the rising daily rate of confirmed cases and hospitalizations suggest the virus is far from under control, medical experts are urging political leaders to shut down the country and start over to contain the pandemic.

Are you for or against another shutdown?

Most people aren't sane. People out and about like the virus doesn't exist.

The shutdowns are beneficial for me economically speaking. But I am against them because I feel like people for the most part value their jobs against the weight of the risks associated with Coronavirus.

How about high risk people stay at home, mainly the old and morbidly obese, while the rest of us wear masks, social distance and go on with life.

or could he have meant that the sane people are the ones that have been isolating all this time to prevent the spread and the non sane ones were those freely going out and about without masks?

I know this is Gamefaq, where introverted nerds thrive, but this is an exaggeration.

Its normal to still go out every now and then. Just wear masks, distance, and stop huddling in large groups is the main thing people refuse to do.

Besides grocery and doing a few tasks for my job like the odd time having to go inside a bank I've been home. I did go visit my folks in the city once so far but stayed inside their place.

My ex-wife on the other hand did small bday party for the kids outside. I was gonna get a bouncy castle, but not happening. I told the kids maybe next year instead we'll just have a water balloon fight. Only the 3 of us.

damn, if experts are saying it then we know for a fact it won't happen.

somehow i think trump would be the perfect victim for reverse psychology.

just claim that all the dems want the entire US to open and trump will shut down the country in one single day guaranteed.

This time we need to lock people in their homes, no going outside for any reason. The military can distribute rations as needed. Leaving the house has a 50/50 chance of death and people need to understand that.

Also recent gatherings like this: https://www.sacbee.com/news/coronavirus/article244439837.html

Isn't helping the situation in America.

I've always been okay with martial law for a few months. A lot of people are against it but considering how many still don't wear masks something needs to happen.

Based on today's population compared to 1918 shit can easily end up a lot worse than the Spanish Flu era.

Best take, but the news media has shamed the living hell out of this opinion, even though its the best option. The media is pretty blatant about wanting to destroy Trumps reelection, so another shutdown would almost guarantee that.

Me? Im out of work until 2021 because of the fear. Working odd jobs to pay my almost $2500+ in expenses and mortgage a month.

It's just one big mess.

It's like a huge lose/lose situation.

Many small restaurants that reopened pretty much closed their business. They can't run at like 50% capacity.

So far things aren't too bad here in Canada, but it can get worse.

Yeah honestly, they had these phases, and the state leaders were like "lol nope" and flung the doors open again with no mandatory masks in public places. I think a 5th grader could have told you that was a bad idea, but these are the people in power leading our nation.
