I really dislike being messenger boy between executives and upper management that's above my calls and pay grade. My boss kinda sucks at confrontation so he sends me to go tell people on his level of management what he wants to do and vice versa.

I have to tell the dude so many times that "That's probably something you should tell the other managers yourself" or "I feel like that should be coming from you and not from me".

One of our department managers wants to literal re-arrange almost all computers/wirings and shit. I told the manager that's something he'd have to talk to my boss about but of course he never did. I mentioned to my boss about this and then my boss tells me to ask the other manager this and why and reasoning behind the move and blah blah and I'm like fuck no. This is a discussion for my boss and the other manager. I'm not about to approve shit. Pay me another 10k a year then I'll make these big decisions.

He's alright for the most part but this is one of his weakest points. A LOT of managers are bad at this, actually. You should NEVER use your employees to deliver a message that really should come from you.

At my last job, the director of engineering kept trying to get me to fight for her when operations and quality was against her. Thing was I agreed with the other departments so she hated me.
