Current lineup marching order is:

Lloyd

Misella

I also have an unawakened Cress but Lloyd fulfills the same role and Cress's Memoria works very nicely for him. Playing catchup with Chronos and Misella to get them up to speed - won't feel comfortable taking on really tough content until them taking over for a downed ally stops feeling like a punishment.

Ehhhhh....I'm typically pretty strongly against the idea of editing outfits for this kind of thing on basically any other platform, but I guess there's no harm just messing around with it here. Looks OK!

I kinda wonder if these summon tickets you get have rates up. They aren't listed as rates up but so far from the 3 I've gotten I've pulled 2 SR and 1 SSR. Was nice as it have me Luke and I had no fire SSRs. Now I'm just missing Light but that seems less important with how Light and Dark work

I think it's a little disrespectful to say "I can do this better" and edit over somebody else's art. The result of basically my entire Twitter experience for the last half decade being as a way to follow artists.

It'd be different if you were drawing Velvet for yourself.

I've gotten two R, so...

All my individual tickets have also been Rs.

I like Velvet, but I'm not a fan of her outfit. It's an improvement to me

I think the art itself is good. The outfit is not. And seeing as I can't personally draw, there really is no functional way for me to put a different spin on Velvet outside of photoshop.

I mean I'm not gonna make it a thing because we're just posting on B8. If this was actually on Twitter or something then the answer would be...not to.

In fact, posting something like that on Twitter would likely result in you waking up with 100s of people in your inbox calling you a monster and you having to go private for a while <_<

You temporarily withdraw when you wipe, or so I understand it.

Another random tip: switch out your 'back line' (a.k.a. the two characters in reserve) when doing new missions that your frontline can handle. If you don't need your full frontline, switch out whoever you want there too. At Level 8 or so Affinity, every character gifts you a Rainbow Art Book III and you're gonna want as many of those as possible.

They continue to gift those later on as well. Affinity goes all the way to 50 I beleive.

They do but the amount of exp needed for each level of Affinity goes up every level, so if the fastest way to get the art books is to rotate out anyone who gets to Affinity level 8. Once everyone is Level 8 you start rotating them back in (next level they give out Art Books is 14).

I hadn't been paying attention and just realized BP is only for joining raid, not starting them.

Seems like it is tough slogging to make progress in Arena. I'm using my tickets as soon as I hit 5/5 and I've only lost 1 match all season but I'm staying at the same ranking range. I use my 5 tags and get up to like 2600-2700 and then by the time they are recharged I'm back down to like 3200-3300.

It seems implausible that everyone above me is also keeping their tags used on cooldown whilst winning every match too. So a ton more people must be using stones to refresh than I expected.

Aren't there arena-specific gels?

Or am I imagining that.

I don't believe so. There's AP and BP but nothing for arena. At least when you click the replenish button, it only gives the option to use stones

Wait, hasn't it only degraded once? Pretty sure Arena rankings only go down once a week at least. Maybe I'm just playing enough to not notice.

I only used gems once to recharge and have lost maybe a half dozen times, and am sitting at C2 right now.

I mean the physical number ranking. So like I'm in C2 now with 7724 Prestige and I'm in 2629th place. So I'm talking about the 2629 bit which is what the number of Gleamstones you get at season end is tied to.

Yeah I'm maxing out to ~2000 when I use my tickets and then dropping to ~3000 by the time my tickets are ready again.

Seems like it is better to jump into Hard raids that have 1 person in so you can guarantee yourself the MVP rather than gamble on Very Hard raids and whether or not you can get MVP. I guess people with better teams than me may be able to just do VH and not care about that. I also just auto them all which I doubt helps my contribution.

No. The 1933 placement is what I'm talking about.

So like this morning I was at 3300. I won all 5 matches and got up to 2600. By the time my tags are up for use again, I will be back at 3300. So even though I'm winning every match and keeping my tags used on cooldown, I'm not making any progress in placement. And placement is what dictates how many gleamstones you get at season reset.

I've been autoing the hard raids also. I'm not strong enough to get MVPs on VH

Placement in arena is how many gleamstones you are willing to spend on it and not on actual strength of team or skill. Winning is trivial once you have a half decent team so placement in arena is literally based on how much gleamstones you want to spend.

I think it's just the nature of the beast at the moment. Just recently watched a video illustrating how sound moves with a visual of dots. It looks like waves rolling forward, every dot being pushed forward with each sound wave. Until a single dot (air molecule) was highlighted yellow and you could see it surge forward with the wave and get bunched up, but then it would rubber band back to its original position before being sucked up and surged forward again.

Everyone in our 2000-4000 range is in the same set of rolling waves. We're all looking to move ahead and push forward with our five tickets. With how relatively easy it is to win an Arena battle (e.g. our team goes first, their AI sucks, we can focus whoever we want down), pretty much everyone who has gotten this high up is both using up their tickets consistently and winning most if not all the fights. AND there doesn't seem to be any loss in Prestige neither for the AIs that lose or when you lose (can't confirm at this time, on a 15+ winstreak).

So...

- Everyone on our level is playing daily and using all their tickets
- Everyone is winning and gaining prestige
- Most have probably figured out about the timer reset this high up to maximize ticket usage
- The only noticeable downside for a lost match is a two hour wait for the next attempt

So we all surge forward, cimbing up to higher placements, but as we rest, we're pulled back as others surge forward. And then they rest and others surge forward. And because everyone has the same amount of tickets and same amount of time and teams of comparable strength that only get steadily stronger at similar paces, everyone is stuck in that portion of the surf like fifty feet off the beach where the waves are high and roll.

And the invisible wall is those who have bought more tickets or ascended to higher ranks in the first round of arena because that's really the only way to move closer to shore.
