well, I do a big-cost AP mission (namely VH3 Gold) and then blow through a bunch of BP aids as the AP builds back up, repeat step 1 if AP fills before finishing off my BP

What I typically do for BP is just mindlessly join raids when I'm watching TV.

How much do the Ascension Board upgrades cost for an SSR character? Trying to figure out how much I should prioritize the current raid event over other things.

I don't think it is an efficient use of resources to try and farm the crystals yet. I can't contribute that much damage to the raids so I'd rather try and get more guys to level 90 or 100

The new raid is definitely designed for people who's have multiple characters of the correct type already needing the materials.

It is very, very difficult.

In other news, I've been using Rokuro a ton over the last day, and am. Amazed at just how viable SRs are. In fact, it's thanks to him that I am now complete comfortable with the wind even raid on VH being auto'd now with no risk. I mean, I could auto before thanks to Estelle, but now I don't even have to worry about a unit dying. He tanks those hits that used to shred up Leon. I'm going to level up more SRs as well it's so much cheaper cost and material wise.

Leon in general I am not sure as to why he was regarded so highly prerelease. He's fine but not God tier. Those same lists put Estelle at the bottom, though, so obviously they were morons.

Leon was put in Top Tier because he has one of the highest attack stats in the game and...that's pretty much it.

When the game came out, I don't think people realized how big of a part of the game raiding was going to be, and raiding mostly favors tankiness and healing.

Yeah my Leon always drops first in VH raids when I put it on auto.

He's amazing for Arena and solo content though. I'm sure there's ways to improve his survivability that just aren't available to me yet.

Yeah that's one way. Maybe there's some passives that can provide a defensive buff. For now I'll just pair him with Estelle while I work long-term to get that Richter SSR to 100.

I think my big Leon issue is I haven't found the right Memoria for him, because his attack is also falling behind. Velvet currently has way more attack and also way more Health and defense thanks to the maxed out Event Reid. I also have Kyle's Memoria to 70, so I could turn her into an even more insane glass cannon, but even giving her a less attack focused Memoria she's still stronger.

However, ever since I put the level 70 Rokuro Memoria on him with the evasion skill, Leon has been dodging a bunch of attacks. It think the trick is to give him attack and evade and just give up on health and defense.

I said it in the last topic, but every metagame of every game I've ever played overvalues damage. Usually only in the beginning before player perception course corrects, but sometimes forever. People like seeing big numbers kill things. I called Velvet overrated early on so I'm being consistent!

Harder raids are always going to require bulk. I usually slot Estelle in the 5th slot and let her slot in after Leon dies which he always does before Velvet

Velvet is still pretty great, would say she's in the top 1/3 of the cast. Just not this meta-defining unit that deserves to be on literally every Arena team I see. Biggest issue is that her Mystic Art takes five years to charge. It makes sense for balance (it's really, really strong) but it means in most fights I find that her MA is only available after everyone else has already used their big abilities to combo together, which makes you lose out on a lot of prospective damage.

(I also just picked Velvet because she's my favorite. I didn't look up tier lists at all before starting.)

Velvet is actually 99.9% as squishy as Leon. Their max stats are:

Leon

Only unit I can find that is as comparably made of paper is Stahn, whose max stats are:

Def - 2,000

Reid and Kannono aren't too far off though. Side note on Reid - I have no idea why he's received no attention, because he's almost the same character she is, with a very similar statline and abilities. Waifu power is real I guess.

Her passive is better, she's better at hit generation and turn counts for her two attacks and MA are much lower. Reid is good for batting clean-up at the end of a long chain, but I think there's a fairly clear difference between them!

Well yeah that's why she's still great despite the flaws. Her normal artes are very good.

Looking at Leon's abilities more closely, I actually think he's kind of average. The damage scaling on his abilities aren't very good and don't let him take full advantage of his statline. They have low cooldown but I don't think the tradeoff is worth it.

Right but Leon's Memoria is significantly less tankier than Velvet's and right now you slot on people's SSR until you get something better.

I can tell you I have soloed a lot of VH event raids and never once have Leon outlived Velvet. My Leon is even +1. Maybe the AI has a preference to target Leon / dark element?

I can say pretty confidentially that you shouldn't be slotting SSRs with their own Memoria for more than, like the very first few hours of play. You only have to ascend an SR Memoria with some compatibility two or three times for it to out class the vanilla SSR, and honestly a single Awakened SSR combined with even a maxed vanilla compatible SR still seems to outclass just pairing the matching pieces together.

I have pulled exactly zero SRs more than 2 times. So there's zero SR memoria I can get past level 50

Edit: Except for event Reid but it has a worse effect on my team as a whole to move him from the subgrid to Velvet. Velvet improves but everyone else loses more than she gains

Also note I'm going off of purely just the character. For example I think Lloyd is in a really good spot right now because its easy to get a maxed out Farah memoria, and that works great for him, but once other characters get their own memoria of similar strength he'll fall off.

You're taking a big risk by using a single SSR memoria for awakening when it isn't reversible.

I think the best non Estelle SSR is Sorey because Wildfire. Unless you only really care about raids in which case it's useless.

I don't think it's a risk at all if it's a unit you know you're going to use. A vanilla SSR Memoria is going to very, very easily be outclassed by SR Memoria you'll actually get dupes for, and even some maxed out R Memoria.

I think the only value at all is going down a path of sticking with an SSR Memoria is for whales.

That's all true, but the risk is that it may become easier down the line to awaken an SSR memoria with some generic item. And it would be nice to have a copy of one to build up
