I know I'm late af to this but as a kid I never really noticed how well they contrast Gaston and the beast. I haven't watched it in more than 20 years, but there are a few scenes that stand out now as an adult. Like Gaston in the tavern has his own throne with horns and fur, obviously a parallel to the beast. And he surrounds himself with people he treats like objects, whereas the beast is surrounded by servants who are literally objects and he treats them with more humanity than Gaston treats humans
