The Dualshock is the best for any kind of side scroller/platformer. XBox and d-pads get along like water and oil.

The Elite controller is the best controller on the market easily. Sucks it has some pretty iffy quality control though.

Definitely. I can use ab XBox controller without my hands hurting from arthritis. With the DS4 however both my pinky fingers and my left thumb start to hurt after a while.

I need to get an XBox style controller for my PS4.

I always got hand cramps quckly easily when I played my 360. Never had that issue with a PS controller or any Nintendo Pro.

The most overrated is the GameCube controller because while it is a great controller for some games, it is terrible for others. Only having 3 shoulder buttons and having no analog stick buttons really hurts it.

if the xbox controller had symmetrical stick placement maybe I'd like it more

but I absolutely hate that it isn't so the Sony controllers have been my go to since forever

This. Although the Vita has far and away the best pad I've ever used. I can't do Raikousen loops or Morrigan's more advanced combos in UMvC3 consistently on any console controller, but with the Vita it's easy.

As someone who only owned an og Xbox and Xbox 360 during those respective gens, the Dualshock 4 is the best controller I've ever used. The 360 is a close second, but the PS4's controller just feels better.

Asymmetrical sticks is just infinitely better design. The left stick is where your thumb goes to move around, your right thumb is by the main buttons you use. Having to put your hands in different positions is just dumb-- and as someone with arthritis, it also makes your hands hurt more.

Sony is still stuck in the days when the D-pad was the main thing used and the analog sticks were an add-on for the PS1 era.

Symmetrical Sticks are better IMO.

I hate asymmetrical sticks because I like to use the claw method to use the left stick and the dpad at the same time. It pisses me off I can't do that with the Xbox controller.

The 360 controller was the best shaped controller, imo, but the joystick placement ruined it.

I, like most people, have my thumbs in the same place on both hands.

DS4 is by far the best playstation controller, but ruined by crap battery life.
