Maybe as a kid it was in one of our textbooks or we went to a museum that talked about it, but it sticks out to me as something I learned and didn't seem too obscure to me. Awesker002 posted... Inuit, Iupiat, Yupik, Aleut are all Eskimo. No one uses the term with any sense of derogatory connotation.
