WarnerMedia and NBCU want people to access Max and Peacock directly through the app rather than through the Roku Channel and Amazon Channels, so that the companies can gather user data. Nearly a third of US customers in the past year subscribed to streaming platforms through aggregation services like Amazon Channels and the Roku Channel, according to Parks Associates. God damn it. Just like HBO Max, don't expect Peacock to show up on Roku or Amazon anytime soon. Streaming players are the new cable companies. We're going back to where we were 10 years ago. Piracy is the only answer. I'm not buying a new device just to get one specific channel. And god damn it, Roku. Demanding content for The Roku Channel? Fuck you. We're all punished because your customer base is too damn stupid to use the channels that offer free content? Something tells me Roku gets a bigger cut of ad money on shows that play through The Roku Channel. All these people are the worst. --- END OF LINE ... Copied to Clipboard!

I don't think I understand the differentiation between Roku and Roku channel. The Roku Channel is a free channel on Roku that has ad supported TV shows and movies, usually taken from other channels. Sometimes stuff ends up free on there as promo material. Like HBO's Watchmen was on there for free one weekend. And yes, there's no HBO Max or Peacock on any Roku or Amazon device. Part of the reason why is because Peacock didn't want to provide content to The Roku Channel on Roku devices. --- END OF LINE ... Copied to Clipboard!
