What the fuck lol

Put my PTO request in at the beginning of March.

Suppose to go to Columbus for a wedding next week, and now we suddenly dont have coverage at work

I would consider it a almost a blessing to have an excuse to skip a wedding right now...

Still fuck your work for their shitty time off policies.

Dont threaten to quit. They fucked up not you.

The way you say coverage implies there are more than one person doing that job. And after seven years you have got to have seniority plus the four months notice.

Id tell them youve spent money on this already and they need to find someone else to cover it. Because you will not be here.

Theyre fucking with you.

I do armed security for a company that contracts us out to various places.

Im not sure how many guards they have for the area, maybe 20.

Pretty sure that's a violation of some sort within your company as long as your PTO was approved months ago. You should check in with your HR team and see what they have to say

To be honest, with Covid, it's not necessary for you to also go.

This.

my company is dumb af.

you put in the request and hope that it gets approved, but you dont actually know until the week before.

They cant say if theyll have enough guards 5 months ahead of time, apparently.

Like someone said, go to HR.

This could just be your company trying to screw you over despite some possible policies being in place. They don't care, as long as you work, you know? If you don't put in the effort, no one will.
