"my boss doesn't listen to me and actively undercuts me at every turn' will make sense to you when you get a job

But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

Sure, sure. The experts aren't to blame, even though we have them on television lying their asses off.
Nice ad hom too

I agree the administration is to blame, it's just really weird you want to make it about the experts instead of their boss

I know for a fact de evolution over there didn't have this same energy for Obama - or Cuomo or newsome either for a more current example. I don't know you so Im giving you the benefit of the doubt that it's ignorance rather than just bad faith

Its about both, especially when Fauci is being deified like he is. Thats what I'm addressing. Leaders don't make decisions in a vacuum. The only one who sounded some alarm bells, that I read, was Azar. The rest: Fauci, Redfield, Adams, were caught sleeping.

To your other point: I've said over and over Trump again is at fault for a lackluster response. In fact I partially put that in my posts because I know people here can't seem to process most discussions unless the obligatory orange man bad is thrown in. Lastly, what other posters do is their business.

@abaddon41_80 okay, so the death rate is 0.6%. Your stance is that the media is fear mongering people. For what fucking purpose you believe they're doing this is anyone's guess. But also, why is the governor of Texas, who had the most libertarian approach to the pandemic, closed down late and opened up early, now requiring military and federal assistance with healthcare and hospitals? Is Greg fucking Abbott, GOP governor to the core, fear mongering and building up the virus as more problematic than it actually is?

are we at the point yet where everyone agrees with me that all of our politicians suck balls at actually leading? Or are we still at the point where "THOSE" politicians suck...but "THESE" ones...I swear they're good honest people!

We elect the politicans. Politicans are nothing more than a reflection of a society's values.

Not when we have a political system that selects for those most likely to be "elected" instead of those most likely to be "great leaders". Or, in an era of limited individual bandwidth and unlimited information, our main legacy media outlets continue to try and champion their inside person.

Goes beyond us electing the politicians in my mind. I hear you though. We do have the power to change it. But how to convince such a large swath of people to rally around an outsider? They're demonized immediately by those who are comfy on their "team" despite sometimes agreeing more with the outsider.

Tough situation

Tough situation

It will correct itself eventually, but it's going to take America's fall as a superpower to happen. Usually the countries with the best overall system wins and gets out on top. America's sytem worked great for a long time, but recent decades has it tripping over its own shit. Like China or hate them, in recent decades, they went from empowering most of their horribly poor citizens into a middle class lifestyle, and continues to increase in power. Not saying that an authoritarian style is the way to go, but these other countries are highly coordinated, from citizenship all the way to the top.

Sure but let's remember, much like America's detractors like to remember, that middle class lifestyle (both getting them to, and sustaining it) is built on a lot of oppression and suffering. And I think a good argument can be made that the structure of America is better suited for a long term overcoming of the "sins of the past". but who knows
