I quit right after you get to the second island, not sure if I should play it again, or if the game mechanics are so old that it'll be a shitty experience.

I'm wondering this too. I love the villain but I don't remember the rest. I feel like since they just kept building on the same exact format, it probably would feel very lacking gameplay wise now. It's also a series that really benefits off better graphics.

Oh damn. Good thing I didn't buy it the other day. My experience with FC5 was bad at first cause I couldn't get off my stealth mindset. I came back to it with a guns blazing strategy and it was 20 times more fun.

Yeah now that i'm thinking about it, FC3 pretty much pigeonholes you into that, hell even FC4 did it to a lesser degree.

Ok, yeah FC5's flexibility was it's greatest strength now that i'm thinking about it. You could just go bonkers and still not be suboptimal.

you only miss like a 500 xp bonus, the biggest thing that sucks is that more dudes show up, it's just a drag. you can go in guns blazing and still kill everyone before they get to the alarm, or just shoot the alarms first, i just think they missed the mark for people who don't want to carry silenced snipers and a bow and all that

that's a reason why i still like far cry 2 even though it aged like milk. you want an LMG? a fucking mortar? light everyone on fire? go for it, what you see is what you get, you won't be punished by more waves of enemies

It was mediocre then, I imagine it still is. And, if you finished the first island you pretty much experienced the whole thing. The new antagonist was boring as sin and obviously the new island just has more of the same stuff.
