Not if I could avoid it lol.
Also Fuck y'know school teachers Even if kids are less likely to catch it, they still can, and they will spread it to the teachers. Schools can do online options in the meantime. ... Copied to Clipboard!

have them potentially contract a disease during a ongoing pandemic/increase their chances of dying from the coronavirus or put family members at risk
have them lose out on education Seems like a lose a lose scenario to me. If they go to school, my kids could get sick/die or have other family members get sick/die. But if they don't go to school, they'll miss out on learning and it'll be like they flunked a grade. --- NS: SW-0316-4590-2333 "Life is difficult and there is no point at living it if you are poor." -Google search result ... Most schools I know of are doing the online thing. I'm not a parent but if I was id probably see if I can home school them until it blows over. The actual academic knowledge can be learned on the internet these days with free resources, let's just be real here. The real loss when it comes to school is social interaction with peers and extracurricular activities.

Jersey schools dont open until September even when things are normal.
But yes my daughter will be going back to school. The local schools released their new policies, they are doing all they can to keep things as safe as possible. The online schooling was horrible. Not enough attention to the kids, lackluster curriculum, reduced hours, a requirement for a parent to be home, and socialization is an important part of a child's development. I do fear restrictions being implemented will still cause a lot of these problems to be present in some form though. We were lucky enough to not experience any major hardships from a couple months of online schooling, but if one of us needed to stay home again once school started it would cause major finance problems. Myself and my wife are both essential workers in healthcare and have not been able to take any time off. My wife was able to work from home for a short time but that has caused large backlogs of work that needs to get caught up on. IMO remote working and learning are not sustainable. --- I don't have emotions & sometimes that makes me very sad. ... Copied to Clipboard!

The tentative plan my kids district has is alternating one week in the classroom then three weeks at home. They've also bought enough chromebooks so every student in the district will be able to borrow one if needed.
