Stage 9 is a huge jump in difficulty. I was cruising through the game as Blaze until I got to the Y Tower. I can't seem to make it out of the bottom floor without dying once. I may resort to using an assist to get past.

Which enemy you struggling with? Each one has a trick to it, so if you get stuck you can usually cheese those enemies in a certain way.

If it's the judo guys, the trick is to move until you're directly above them and then downwards to grab them, and mash attack. Only do that. Pretty much same tactic for the muay thai guys.

The elevator - just throw everyone off the side.

Fraid not, although his jump special has pretty great mobility, and his dash attack is getting the range extended.

Because they can? I'm sure they would have done it in the 90s too if it was an option.

I mean there's some glaring problems:

• some characters have infinite combos
• some enemies have some cheap af attacks that you can't do anything about
• Axel, the main character of the entire series, is so, so bad

I mean if you lose you wanna feel like it was because you sucked, not because the game pulled some bullshit on you.

Yeah that last part of the first section where you fight the big white Goro guys and the Thai boxers at the same time. It gets a bit hectic.

There were definitely a couple of trouble spots, but I would have been fine with leaving them tbqh

And I always feel like I should be able to run up a huge combo in the Galsia room of the tower, but the ones with the spears always get me

Why act like winning a simple videogame makes you a hard man, lmao

Facts:

• galsia hit boxes are a bit ridiculous
• Axel should be better

For the record I've beaten it with every character, but it's ok to think "maybe it would be better if this guy's tiny little knife couldn't decimate you from 5 metres away"

Incidentally, I think most of the bosses should be much harder.

I agree with the boss comment. The only bosses that have some challenge are the ones who have a ton of backup. Squaring off against any boss one on one is usually a pretty easy affair.

SOR4 Axel is fucking awful. And never use his dash Attack especially on Mania. Shit leaves you open forever (unless they patched it)

Theyre actually addressing this in the patch as well, adding more food to the sauna and locker room area.

While Im definitely glad theyre addressing certain things like Axels weaknesses, Floyds special spamming and some of the cheaper enemy attacks, Im afraid theyre nerfing too many enemies and the game will become too easy.

That's not it though, easier isn't the point. More fun is the point. Like it would be more fun if Axel was a better character and not easily worse than every other character including almost all of the unlockable retro characters, with the exception of himself in SoR2.

I think it would be more fun if they did that, made Galsia less bullshit, and made nearly all of the bosses much harder.

You should be winning because you have the skills, not because you figured out how to cheese your way through some bullshit.

It is fun though, i have no complaints about it. I enjoy it being challenging, i adapt and switch up my play style. Axel isn't as bad as you say he is.

He's viable sure, but he's easily worse than all the other characters. Which I think is disappointing given he's the hero of the story.

And challenging is fine. Make the bosses harder, that's good challenge. Having a random low level enemy come at you with a knife that's 3 inches long but has a hitbox that's shaped like a 2 meter balloon around his body is a bit odd.

I get that you disagree and that's fine but when people do the whole "just get gud" shtick it's a bit boring. This game isn't even slightly hard after beating Hollow Knight, but that game never once felt cheap to me.

I welcome the updates, personally. I loved SOR4, and platinumed it fairly quickly. Any balance changes will breathe a little new life into it.

Cosmetic changes (like colour/outfit choices) and unlockable new characters would be sick. The cop lady and modern shiva, for example.

Just finished the video. Im a big fan of him getting some OTG usage out of the grand upper and his neutral special. I personally dont think he really needs much in terms of power buffs, but it looks minor. Overall, its a big positive IMO.

Yeah basically they gave him a faster walk speed (becuase he was basically Floyd but without the range before), and gave him better combo options because his specials actually work as they should now. Much needed. Nothing grand or anything, just more balanced.

My favorite game was always Final Fight, i liked but didnt love SoR. SoR 4 is my favorite beat up up now though, by far
