not remote in my state, and it is functionally a telemarketer job. you'll get lots of threats too, since most people dont want to give out 'personal information' over the phone to random strangers.

It might not be remote much longer in many states. They are realizing people aren't answering their phones from random people. So now they think having the contact tracer knock on doors will get more answers. Which it won't.
