the chance of a cop actually being there to do anything is very low

The threat of police and law enforcement makes a difference. People act differently when they know they do feel repercussions to their actions. Why is that when protests happen, rioting and looting occur at the same time? Because law enforcement is too busy to deal with everyone.

I have a personal friend who has been working in CHOP. She helped run one of the medical tents or something like that. It's harrowing how many people willingly steal from medical facilities like that

Apparently the mayor has declared the protestors dangerous after one of the city council members marched them to the mayor's doorstep.

They know exactly who have been shooting? I know they opened up a bordering street and there's been white supremacists around who would love an excuse to make this look bad and kill some minorities while they're at it

This is really awful. I've been through there and they didn't bother me, but if people there are taking it upon themselves to shoot to kill with no good reason that's how we got in this mess to start.

The police are responsible for abandoning the precinct. It seems as though they had an agenda. Now, what are you going to do? Their company line has been from the start that they can't do their jobs because they're scared of violence. I blame the police for starting this shit but there's plenty of blame to spread around for these lost lives.

yes. To a degree, although its an allegory about war.

the children thought they could create their own society based off of what they thought a civilized and fair society was contrary to what they grew up knowing from the adults.

it starts out fine as these things would and just like how CHAZ started.

Then throughout the book you have power struggles, violence, hunger and death.

zero structure and and chaos only until they are rescued by adults and brought back to society.

my point is: the book shows a need for established structure and authority which this whole CHAZ thing never had. People created their own rules and their own cliques and thats when shit hits the fan.

simon and piggy are casualties of child ignorance and inexperience. As are the victims within CHAZ via the inexperienceD leaders and authority.

now that the children have had their fun and taste of a free society the adults have to come in and reign them in and send them home for bath time and bed.

i been seeing this connection since chaz came together and it only got more accurate as time went on, fascinating

So you missed the entire implication at the end that the adults were no better than the kids and the officers chiding of the children for their devolving into savagery was ironic given his position on a warship involved in a meaningless conflict that was no less savage or debased than the play war that the children had just been fighting among themselves?

There are videos. It appears a white "CHOP security" shot two unarmed black children (16 and 14, the 16 year old died).

What I've seen seems to suggest that the kids weren't even inside CHAZ at the time.
If so, this could be seen as an act of war.

did you even read past my first sentence?

its an allegory to how fucked up war is and even then it fits perfectly because these same people in CHAZ think theyre innocent just like the kids were in the beginning. Then just like the kids, with zero direction and authority they turn savage and become just like the adults at the end of the book.
