"Thank you sir" -> "Thank you" Though I do indulge in a few phrases I always tack on "sir"/"ma'am" to just because they're references stuff and it wouldn't work if I dropped the address. I mean, they're pretty odd references that really sound like they could come from anywhere but I've been using them for like 15-20 years so I just keep on. Good day, sir. Thank you, sir. If youre in Japan or Korea, Im pretty sure youll eventually end up on the shit list if youre not using honorific titles.
