I know any romantic aspirations with her are done.
But thing is, I felt like we were pretty good friends but that hurts more than being romantically rejected.

I asked her about it and she said she wasn't upset with me about anything but she felt like her personality of being open and loving was giving me a false impression. I gave her some of my perspective and she seemed cool with still being friends.

Problem is, what she was doing is pretending like an invisible wall exists between us. She will deliberately avoid looking at me and starting small talk with me when we are out in our friend group.

Even if...she is the one who invited me along to the outing....

I am wondering if this means the end of our friendship. Maybe since I asked her about it she will stop? Idk, I feel that kinda scorn be hard to stop once it starts.

Tbh, makes me not want to go with the group but then I am in a catch 22.
If I don't go with the group, it looks like I only went with them to try to get her.
If I do, she might think I still am chasing or either way just make me feel awful with that behavior.

Ugh

Just forget about her and leave her alone, you are only stressing yourself out

I definitely will tone down what I do. Thing is, I will see her in said friend group and these are friends I had before. Also, she still says hi and tends to host like a thing for the friend group.

Like, she invited me to lunch with the friends one day (the others didn't) then proceeded to not talk to me. That was when I first really noticed this. Was weird.

The simplest solution would be to pretend for the next month that she doesn't exist in the world anymore. If she was the only reason you went with a particular friend group, then just own up to that and move on. After a month anything that was up in the air should settle down and your path should be clear.

Honestly it sounds like she might still like you. Not saying she definitely does but it could be an explanation of her behavior. Like why would she invite you out, otherwise? Unless maybe shes trying to just keep the friend group intact or something.

I wouldn't over think it. She just feels awkward. With enough time y'all will both be over it and it'll be fine.

Because she is a nice person.
Trust me, no one who likes you shuts you out like that.
