It's true. Asians wouldn't be where they are today if the Civil Rights movement didn't do so much to even the playing field.

What always stuck with me was when I watched Our Friend, Martin as a kid. There's a character there named Maria who was very academically gifted. But when MLK's contributions got erased, she ended up being a maid scrubbing the floors. Not being able to speak a word of English. I saw myself in her because my whole identity in my school years was tied to my academic success, and I realized I would have none of it without the Civil Rights movement.

This is what the left does now. Instead of fighting against what the right did they just started doing the same thing to groups they view as "priveleged." Also, Indians are Caucasian and the highest earning group in America, yet he can get away with his massive generalization and his single minded views of one thing being completely responsible (not that this should be acceptable by anyone, just that it is hilarious how these rules work).

Ignoring markinggram Asians are half the world population and have dozens of ethnic groups, if not hundreds. How is it acceptable to generalize them all?

This is really old. It's definitely true that a lot of people in Asia and from Asia are racist against black people. The opposite is true as well. It's almost like all people can be racist and it's not just a white thing.

You know I would've flat out disagreed with him if I hadn't met my 3 aunts from Vietnam. I was driving them from LAX to our house, when the conversation came up about who their daughters were marrying. Each of them were marrying someone outside their race, all 3 were white (French Canadian, German American, and a White guy from Illinois). They all made a huge sigh and said thank goodness none of them married a "Mi Dang" (Black people in a semi derogatory term). I merely turned my head and said why? One of my aunts answers (I'm translating from Vietnamese to English here)? "Have you seen the news and movies? Black people just like to have sex and abandon their wives and kids (she uses a vietnamese slur which basically means deadbeat dad). They will even force their wives to have sex with other men to make money (conflating them to pimps) and their children won't look good (because they will be dark skin). I care whats best for my daughter and you would do the same if you had children." I tried to question her by saying that this can happen to any race of people, including whites. She answers back, "Oh no, white people is all about having success in life and I know my wife will be happy, most of the successful men in the world are white (little does she know that it's actually asian men that make the most money in life)."

I was very close to drop her off by the side of the road, but we were literally minutes from my house so I dropped her off and never spoke to the three of them ever again for the rest of their time here. But it opened my eyes to see just how some people from Vietnam view race as a success thing or not, which can be very prevalent to Hasan's video. It's very much people who never been exposed to other races or culture that harbor very ignorant way of thinking. It usually tends to be first generations because of that.
