Kingdom Hearts and Zone of the Enders are two I know of. There are probably more.

It was pretty not good, yeah.

Had an ok story if you ignore like 80% of it being filler that canonically doesn't even matter but the mechanics were annoying af, especially if you get stuck with the wrong room card on a high floor.

The card combat of Chain of Memories is really good and people not liking it makes me angry.

Better than the shitty command deck from Birf by Sleep and the one that shall not be named.

I like CoM as well, but it's definitely not for everybody.

Just save a blue 1, for the all that is good save a blue 1.

I LOVED the card combat of Chain of Memories and it is honestly far more enjoyable than the braindead "one-two-three" combat of KH. And yeah, it makes me angry that people think it is bad too. It added depth.

What are you talking about. Kingdom Hearts 1 is pretty basic dude. You just run around hitting things. It's like simplified Dark Souls during boss fights and a mashfest through random encounters at all other times. Chain of Memories' innovation on combat made combat enjoyable for me.

Being simple doesn't mean unsatisfying. The card combat is experimental and fascinating and has some nice depth, but it's nowhere near as well developed as the satisfying whacking of enemies in the main games.

Eh, even KH1 has pretty deep systems. However, you can get through the game spamming X and hitting cure once in a while, even on Proud.

I thought kh1 had some genuinely enjoyable boss fights especially in the coliseum

I could grant you that the cards added a layer of complexity, just not one I found fun

I wouldn't say it's that deep, but it's definitely deeper than is generally assumed by people who call it braindead.

PSP had a couple too. Valkyria Chronicles and Parasite Eve (which was called Third Birthday).

It was weird times. Nowdays a major publisher isn't going to bother making a Switch only entry in their own franchise.

Pokemon Gen 3 was godlike.

CoM was super fun, and put a lot of time into it, but I probably won't play it ever again cuz it's only the last good thing I enjoy about KH.

GBA was a golden age of gaming. Absolutely great system/era.
I still regularly play GBA games. I just finished Golden Sun (1) a few days ago. I'll get to Dark Dawn after a small intermission.

No yeah I agree the boss fights are pretty decent in kh1. I haven't played through the entire game yet because of how repetitive Agrabah is, but of the bosses I have faced so far, I have had a decent challenge that has been pretty fun. It just reminds me of simpler Dark Souls, which is still good.
