Yes one hundred percent.

if you can deal with ME1 not being the greatest gameplay wise and very dated and how much of a hurry youre in.

But 2 and 3 have some of the best gameplay of the series. Hell, gameplay wise even Andromeda was pretty sick.

But yes def worth playing at least a few hrs to see if you can deal with 1. If you cant deal with it then just watch a summary of ME1 on YouTube and start 2.

oh wait I notice you said replay - in which case no, if youve played both before Id definitely skip 1

Yeah, for sure.

You can always set the difficult lower if you just want to cheese through the games quick.

Having your own personal continuity is a big deal. Makes your choices matter. No other game franchise has done it better, before or since then.

Id personally skip 1, since for me a lot of the big moments wouldnt hit nearly as hard second time round and I would struggle with the dated gameplay mechanics. Or like the other user said turn the difficulty down so you can rinse through the story

ME1 is always going to be a struggle to want to go back to due to the mako system.

Though ME2 had that annoying scanning system.

Andromeda does have the best combat in the series.

I loved the planet scanner in ME2...

But agreed, Andromeda has the best combat system. Shame about the lack of polish and subpar story.

I actually liked ME1 the most, simply because it was a good mix of action and RPG.

ME2, while improving some things (mainly making weapons and armor upgrades resource based vs. random loot, more involved branching paths), also made a lot of things worse (simpler RPG mechanics, the scanning system, needing WAY too many resources to upgrade some things)

And ME3, well, the endings (or lack thereof) isn't even 1/4 of the problem with that game. It is basically just Gears of War with a Mass Effect skin.

Haven't played Andromeda, probably never will unless it is gifted to me (or Origin does another free month of Access)

Thats oversimplifying it unnecessarily. The only comparison is that its a cover based shooter, ME3 has more depth gameplay and story wise.
