Which is a social boards thing. Because social boards have a high purge rate, you could have 25 posts per day -- 175 per week -- and never rise above 200 AMP total. However, the second you step off a larger social board, even averaging 4-5 posts a day can give you an absurdly high AMP over time because the posts stay around for a much longer period of time. (Although even on a social board, you'll have some topics that stay active for a few months -- when I finally take a hit from the last geek topic going away, I should lose about 70-80 AMP.)

You could have three people start at the same time. One who posts only on CE, one only on PotD, and one only elsewhere. The CE poster could average 50 posts a day and, because CE purges after 3 days, his AMP probably wouldn't ever exceed 200 or 250 (accounting for some longer-running topics). You could have a PotD-only poster post 30 posts a day and, because PotD has a 7-day purge, his minimum would be 210 -- despite posting far less than the CE guy -- although he probably wouldn't exceed 350 (accounting for long-running topics, which can last longer on PotD because they don't 500 as fast). Finally you'd have somebody who posts off the major boards at a rate of 5 posts per day. Many boards take as long as 6 months to close topics, and a long-running topic can go years before 500'ing. So while his initial AMP would be lower than the others, he could easily hit the thousands over time despite having a far lower activity level. Even one month of posting would put him at the same 150 AMP as the 50-posts-per-day CE poster, despite the fact he's a tenth as active. And that's why AMP is a bullshit metric. Even on PotD, I have AMP from a year ago. On other boards, some of my AMP goes back 2 years because those topics are still running. It's how also how Slayer -- who did this shit deliberately -- was able to still have a monstrously huge AMP (what was it, like 12k?) despite not even logging in for half a year.

Finally broke the 1k glass ceiling after almost 20 years of posting on Gamefaqs. I credit the 6-month purge rates on some boards and stupidly-long-running topics like Oguri's year-old Simpsons clip topic -- along with Krow's 500-post giveaway -- for this rather dubious achievement. If I just stuck with short-term topics on PotD, I'd never be able to break 200 AMP. (and on CE I'd probably never break 100).
