If the world starts going to shit those are literally the two professions that will have to take the brunt of the fallout.

I can't speak for other people, but I respect doctors a hell of a lot.

You'd be surprised how many people there are out there who think we are quite literally legal murderers.

This lol. At least for the good ones. Sone do it for the money and/or power. It's honorable for the ones who really want to help and hopefully they'll rewarded by self appreciation and respect.

I'd rather work at a grocery store than be a doctor. 60 hour shifts? You couldn't pay me enough for that.

Because I'd never have free time to chill. Or de-stress. Fuck that shit.

I started pre med...I was all stoked about being a doctor.

I didn't end up doing it cuz
1. I was like "damn, I love cell biology"
2. When I job shadowed, all the doctors had pretty much no personal lives outside of work. Then when they did go home they were still often on call. Fuck that.

So yeah, I respect them a lot. Lol

I think most people become doctors because they see prestige, wealth, and the ability to leverage their intelligence to help people. Its super demanding, but thats why I think theyre generally respected.

Cop? I think you have some that want to make a difference and some that want to legally wear a gun and play John Wayne.

As a doctor youd want to be a specialist Id imagine. While you do get called in for those 1% cases that are HIGHLY stressful, it beats being an ER doctor.

A guy who I grew up with wanted to make a difference.
Not only were we friends growing up but we went to school together and got lucky enough to work together in a grocery store. He was really excited about the police academy and all that. Used to talk about it every day. Then he graduated and left the store to become a cop. He did it a couple of years before he quit and never went back into law enforcement again because "that shit was just too corrupt."
Lol
