Did anyone ever think that the score is low because the game was bad?

Sure there's a vocal minority of incels raging about the narrative. But at the same time that shouldn't be a shield for people to go "NO THIS GAME IS PERFECT YOU'RE JUST A TOXIC GAMER"

This game was going to bring out the worst of both sides no matter what. But take that aside and the game is still trash. TLoU was overrated as it was, so I'm not surprised people aren't enjoying the rehashed MGS2, I mena TLoU2.

Well it sucks that people are rating the game way too low and that there's a coordinated attempt to bring down the score as low as possible.

Just like there was a coordinated attempt to bring up the score as high as possible by paid reviewers.

This game was never going to get an accurate rating. To me, it's a 6 at best. And that's because the original was a 6 for me too. I'm not surprised if people genuinely feel that the sequel is worse.

The gameplay is bad.
The graphics are unimpressive.
The music is mediocre.

It's just not a good game. Both 95 from the paid reviewers and the current 3.4 are extremes. The game is a 6.

I think the users who review bombed this were mad because the obviously paid reviewers gave this game an absurd and undeserving score.

The whole gaming review sphere is kind of a weird place. We have plenty examples of reviewers being paid shills, and we know there is a unspoken rule about not being too critical. But then you have people who give honest opinions and end up lambasted by the same kind of fans. And on the fan side, you have people who think that reasonable voices are drowned out by the paid reviews, so they think they need to be vocal somehow and downvote shit. But then downvoting shit just reinforces the opinions of those who think they're all just little bitches.

Nailed it. The pendulum swings both ways. Reviewers are going to give Sony's AAA mulitmillion budget title, one they've been hyping for years, glowing reviews so as not to get blacklisted or to maintain their perks and benefits with the corporation. So what do gamers do in response? The only thing they can do, raise their voices and call them out.

Their bosses? Actually more like their boss's boss's. They pay the company and the word gets trickled down to say this and that about the game. This shit's been going on since the early 90s, but way more so this past decade.

There's been reviewers who quit because they were forced to change up their review because it was too critical or were asked to give a game a certain score. There's so many stories of this.

I never trust a AAA score, whether it's a game I like or a game I won't like. Generally user scores tell the whole story except for cases like this where clearly a bunch of extremes are handing out 0s and 1s. That being said, I'm tired of people saying the game is perfect or has no flaws simply because of a vocal minority outrage.

Well I'll just say I'm not arrogant enough to tell people what specifically they "should be rating" a video game, but by the same token, it's not hard to detect trends like a review bomb, especially for the very first day of the game's release.

Like I said before, when YOU'RE doing the whining against a game it's all reasonable and valid but when someone is whining against a game you like then they are all being crazy blind haters.

If you want to be taken seriously then you have to be fair all across the board, not only when it's convenient or benefiting for you. People thinks TLoU2 is gonna bomb the same fucking way YOU thought Pokemon S&S was gonna bomb.
