I thought I had a decent team and then I go into a game and this guy's top line is MacKinnon, Crosby, Ovechkin and it's just blatantly unfair. I stick with the 6 v 6 EASHL and clubs mode 99% of the time, which has no microtransactions or anything, it's all balanced. I have a friend that drops $200 day one on top of the price of the game just for HUT packs. I can see it now... Smaller world than the previous games, wonky physics even though they were already great in the past, and paid cosmetics instead of unlocking them.
