anyway, this reminds me there was a famous soap opera where they did a wedding episode. armed gunmen broke into the wedding and slaughtered the party and it wiped out like 90% of the show's cast so they could refresh the show.

Yeah but I notice that a lot of them are now abandoning the traditional big wedding and reception thing, so much so that now the wedding not going off for some reason (usually the groom not getting there in time etc) and taking place somewhere smaller is the new cliche, compared to 70s and 80s tv show wedding episodes.
