well also Japan does kinda have some issues with their justice system but it is more on the court level. Possibly corrupt lawyers and judges. Japan boasts a like 99% conviction rate. And anyone who isn't blinded by Japanese patriotism has to wonder about that number and think there probably are quite a few innocent people in Japanese prison

Instead it was one sentence from an overwhelming positive review of the game and the author even only said that it was awkward given recent events, not that it never should have happened.

Most people arrested in Japan go free. They only prosecute those they are sure will be found guilty. The majority arrested in the US go to jail. They get to play courtroom theater first so rich people who can afford a great lawyer can try to sway a jury though. Japan has among the lowest incarceration rates in the world. America has the highest both by rate and raw number. I am not patriotic for Japan. It's just compared to America it's a paradise here and it's hilarious how much Americans have to try to make it sound like it's actually just as bad when there are no stats favorable to the US.

Its like Taylor Swift making songs about how she does not care what her ex-boyfriends and critics think about her music and behavior, and she needs to make sure you also understand how much she does not care.

Youre going to draw angry eyes, no matter what you do. Someone, somewhere, is going to be triggered by something in the game mechanics, the characters depicted and those that are not, the marketing of the product, the story included, the lack of a story... It is never-ending what some people will find offensive. That is a given, so you are right about the angry eyes. That doesnt mean its all reasonable or warranted.

Literally every topic about P4G on Steam (there were a lot of them) just talked about being excited for the game or wanting P5R instead. No mention of cops whatsoever.
