They say calls have tripled in the area. Each has tripled, or they've gotten 3x the amount of calls in general.

Considering how bs they've been, I'm not particularly trusting total honesty from them (or most people tbh)

Again, the police that left their precinct? The same police that shot tear gas at protestors AFTER saying they wouldn't for 30 days? The same exact police that threw a concussion grenade at a peaceful protestor standing there that nearly killed them on the fucking spot. Or how about the same police that then tear gassed the medic tent where medics were trying to bring said protestor to life.

Its a 6 block zone around the East Seattle Precinct. The same one the cops abandoned in hopes that protestors would set it on fire or destroy it somehow. The worst thing to happen to it was they spray painted People over the world Police in Seattle Police Department.

Also conservative media talked about how businesses in the autonomous zone have been extorted for security purposes. Someone reached out to the business manager of the area who hadnt heard jack shit about the reports.

Seattle Police also fed false reports of Proud Boys coming in to riot the night they abandoned their precinct.

Mostly this but it's not bad actors. Just a disinformation campaign. It's legal to blatantly lie about something on media so long as you claim someone else said it because at that point you're reporting that someone said thing and not reporting thing itself.

People don't take it what way, though.

You're right. They should do away with due process and just immediately convict everyone that is reported. Hell, they should arrest and convict more proactively, even before a crime is reported.
