Before the virus, before the protests, that was when Trump was (in my opinion) at his most likely to lose the upcoming election.

fast forward to corona times. Too many people unhappy with the lockdown, people blame Democrats for this.

fast forward to protests, many people not happy with the riots. We are creating an environment that is driving people away from the Democratic Party and to Trump.

In the middle of March, Trump's approval got as high as 45.8 approval/49.8 disapproval.

Now after the protests and impacts of COVID he sits at 41 approval/55 disapproval, which is the worst it's been since February of last year.

TC you literally see it the utter opposite of me. I thought Trump might win before Corona. he completely failed in the virus response. and the social unrest is his fault and he keeps making it worse everytime he opens his mouth

I KNOW he is going to lose in November

Actually polling was right. She won the popular vote by the margins in the polls. She only lost by less than 100000 votes in 3 states. As for the topic, it's actually creating a perfect storm of Trump losing so bad he costs the GOP the Senate. NO ONE likes him.

I disagree, I feel people are more annoyed with Trump than ever.

Trump has always been like a reality TV star in the presidency and it may not have mattered for most of his presidency, but when we had actual crises (like in the last few months) his lack of leadership has really showed.

I don't trust echo chambers. All you can really do is look at the polling data which says that Trump is losing right now. The polls are fake attitude is basically the same as a conspiracy theory mentality.

Riots and looting used opportunities presented by protests as cover for their activities
Rational people oppose looting and burning down mom-and-pop stores
Trump speaks of law and order
Said rational people gravitate towards message seeking to restore the natural quo

People have been pointing this out since the beginning of the rioting/looting, so it's not new. We even got the Clinton presidency to use as proof, with his tough on crime stance and bill(s).

The only people who are being pushed to Trump by this are those who think that Obama and Biden are socialists. So in other words Trump's base.

Trump is not a mediator in this situation.

its not the protests, its the riots. riots and unrest got nixon elected as the "law and order" president, which is why trump is pushing that narrative so fucking hard.

I think the opposite, before all this trump was set for an easy win

Now even with almost all of America on the sidd of the protestwrs trump is declaring war on them, calling for police to dominate, and worst of all suggesting conspiracies even for an old man that cracked his head on the floor

We aren't creating shit, TC. The people as a mass are morons. Bush was re-elected (though that doesn't seem a big deal anymore because now we have this buffoon) and now this moron will be re-elected.

Watch the people be idiots and act surprised. All of you discussing politics right now arent necessarily wasting your time if you like to discuss it for entertainment, but its the same as sitting down and watching Scooby Doo.

I'm in the camp that Trump will win again.

The WHO was wrong about the severity of C-19 and the leftist scientist saying Hydroxochloriquine was dangerous has redacted the paper due to faulty stats. Trump was right about C-19 all along.

The rioters are also associated with the left (Antifa). Trump is standing up against them. Most people are for the protesters and against the rioters. Most people that aren't associated with the left don't buy into the idea that Trump is a racist, especially older people who saw him interacting with blacks regularly.

Biden can barely finish a statement without forgetting what he is talking about. The Dems are going to have to find someone else to fill his spot. This is similar to how George W. Bush got re-elected. We were in the middle of the War On Terror and people reluctantly voted for him because they felt Kerry wouldn't have been fit to take over based on where we were in that moment in time. I see the same happening this time around.

Do you have a link to the paper on Hydroxochloriquine dangers being redacted? Because I remember quite the opposite (the paper advocating it had faulty stats). How exactly was Trump "right all along" about COVID? He said the death wouldn't go above 50K and it would go away "Like a miracle"

Trump has handled the pandemic terribly. He's also handling the civil unrest terribly.

Loads of prominent figures on the right are turning on him. Everyone I know who voted for him last time is voting for Biden.

I don't know of any good sources to get information about this because most media sources are biased and most online discussion is echo chambers.

The only objective source we have is the polls which say that Biden is winning by a decent margin. Things could change obviously, but Trump's average polling numbers are terrible:

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2020/president/us/general_election_trump_vs_biden-6247.html#!

Look at the average polling numbers in recent elections compared to those. Also combine that with Trump's net approval rating. It just doesn't look good for Trump right now.

Hard disagree. More liberals take the virus seriously and won't turn out to vote in person. Access to mail in ballots is spotty in places. The additional steps needed to process mail in ballots will delay election results by days. The right have already tried to delegitimize mail in ballots and will not accept defeat in election where voting by mail will be much more common than it has ever been. The president has made this clear. If you want Trump out of office, voting will not be enough.

Canadian here, so no stake in this ordeal.

I think all Americans should remember how well their predictions/polls/soothsayers turned out in 2016.

The only thing you know, is that you don't know anything about what's gonna happen. There's no shame to admit it.

Look at the 2016 polls.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/us/general_election_trump_vs_clinton_vs_johnson_vs_stein-5952.html

They were going up and down then at the end Hillary was leading by about 3% nationally which turned out to be accurate. As for individual states

https://www.270towin.com/2016-polls-clinton-trump/

They are all right as they are besides MI, PA. and WI. The thing that throws these off is the undecided voter. So the end result is that Trump won 2016 in an upset - MI, PA, and WI were all decided by less than 1%. If the election was today Trump winning would be an even bigger upset.
