In a press conference this morning, presumably to counter the peaceful pictures from the night before, Seattle Police claimed, without evidence, that protesters had fortified CHAZ and were conducting "citizen checkpoints". This is nonsense, verified by countless visitors today.

They claimed they had "credible" reports of businesses being extorted for money while in the Autonomous Zone. Also nonsense, confirmed by several businesses, many of who said they were happy to have protesters in their community. But that didn't stop the story spreading.

There's a roughly 6 block area in Seattle around the East Precinct in Capitol Hill that's being called the "Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone" (or CHAZ for short) because the police abandoned the Precinct in hope that protestors burned it down so they could go back and forcefully take it.

It didn't happen and instead protestors marked off the area and have been doing events and whatnot along the area. They even had a viewing of "13th" in the intersection.

Yes, there has been stories of one guy going around being a POS, but everything I've read has been hugely negative about the guy and the protestors aren't a fan of him either. You know, doing what the "good cops" never did about the bad cops.

I literally acknowledged there was 1 guy with a some buddies going around being a POS. Pretty much everyone else in the AZ dislikes said person and say that he is in no way, shape or form, what they represent as protestors. This is clearly seen by the fact that the only "bad" shit that's been coming out about the AZ has been about said asshole. The source that I posted also said a lot of what conservative news are reporting is exaggerating what is happening in the AZ. I for one am just SHOCKED that conservative news wants to paint a left-leaning movement in the worst light possible.

You do realize Seattle PD has been the aggressors during the protests in Seattle, right?

They literally threw a flash bang at someones chest and almost killed them. Then when medics were reviving them in a medic tent, police tear gassed said tent.

SPD also used tear gas over the weekend after the mayor announced they wouldnt for 30 days. Seattle PD isnt protecting their citizens and you concern trolling about an issue you know nothing about isnt protecting citizens either.
