Miletus 06/11/20 10:01:41 AM #2:	Capcom isn't very good. Nintendo is OK, on par with Techland. I would argue Ubisoft is better than both of them. CD Projekt Red is probably the best developer right now. I'd place Capcom maybe only marginally better than EA, which is at the bottom of the barrel. Any game developer capable of crashing a triple A (AAA) series into the mud is at the bottom. Capcom is less consistent than Nintendo but doesn't crash titles like Bethesda and EA crash titles. But EA is the absolute master of crashing titles. Nintendo can release a renewed AAA title and it be playable but you don't want to play it. Crashing a AAA title is releasing a followup title and it being unplayable. EA, Undead Labs, Bethesda are near the bottom. Nintendo is somewhere in the lower-middle tier. Techland launches AAA titles and Dying Light 2 will be an incredible successor, making Techland better than Nintendo. Ubisoft has mastered a blueprint for releasing good quality content and they're in the top tier with CD Projekt Red. You can live in the past and give Bethesda a lower-middle tier rank but that's just not an accurate representation of what they've become. They're definitely worse than blizzard and blizzard's business model is being as vanilla as possible. Blizzard is lower-middle tier and Bethesda is worse. Bethesda's Starfield better be jaw dropping or they quite possibly will never reach top tier again. One AAA isn't enough to land in the top tier, for me. You need to be consistent. You need to be honest. You need to not crash your legacy. You need to be fair. CD Projekt Red has all of the above. Ubisoft has most of it. Capcom just can't compare; Resident Evil 7 was good, but it doesn't compare to Nintendo's broader consistency for AAA, especially when Capcom's games either have zero replay value or a poor plot or they're designed for interactivity rather than replayability. I think people who genuinely stan capcom are lamer than grandmas who stan nintendo. I'd place Warner Bros above nintendo on my list too. People might complain -- you know -- "WTF!" "but nintendo produces super kid-friendly stuff without big boobs and the women aren't hot and blah blah blah" yeah but are you a gamer or a simp? "yeah but it doesn't impress my kid cousins or my girlfriend as much as RE7 does it makes me look like a hero to copy what people did on youtube and monster hunter has decent visuals !" See, this is all personal. Only selfish people thinking about self-image can place capcom above a beloved and consistent company like nintendo. When it comes down to it, capcom is just barely out of the lowest tier and into the middle tier. Super Mario Odyssey also got a 97. OoT, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, etc. Mario and Zelda consistently get middle 90s reviews...no other developer does that. They had the Ninja Turtle games, Castlevania, MGS, Zone of the Enders, man used to be if you saw that Konami logo you knew it was gonna be some good gaming. In fairness I can't remember how many of those they developed as opposed to publishing but it's kind of a moot point.
