If so that sucks donkey ass. And I remember hearing medical "professionals" say there has never been a successful vacine for previous corona viruses (apparently there were similar viruses in the past that's why they all named corona virus).

So far it sounds like a vaccine is entirely possible. Part of the reason we never had any vaccine for other coronavirus is because they stopped hurting rich countries, they only hurt the poor ones. With the rich countries clear, there was less money in making a vaccine for them. Most experts right now are optimistic, and it doesn't seem like this virus will leave the rich countries any time soon so motivation will not b a problem

No shit. Do helmets and armor prevent all injuries? Do locks prevent all unauthorized entry?

Obviously not. Vaccines depend on your immune system to be properly functional. If your immune system is weak at the time of receiving the vaccine or later in life effectiveness may be lesser or not present at all.

Plus viruses may mutate, or the vaccine itself may be flawed or administered incorrectly. Not all antibodies and immune responses are retained or maintain full effectiveness(relative to health as obviously your immune system declines with age as general health does) for life.

The potential benefits far outweigh potential risks.

The fact that is is surprising to you indicates 1 or more of the following.

1. You are painfully optimistic
2. You were failed by the educators in your life
3. Various things that would get me modded

If you are like 12 or something this topic is understandable. Otherwise go reflect on your life before posting ignorant shit.

They don't have to work 100% of the time in order to "work."
For instance, if 99% of people got vaccinated and 2% didn't work, we'd have about 97% of people who are immune. In other words, the 3% who are not immune would have to happen to come in contact with each other while contagious in order for the virus to continue spreading. Most of the people they contact closely will be immune though, and the few who they happen to contact who are not immune, if any, would likely not be sick or have the illness spread to them..especially if other measures are taken. So it would be entirely possible to eliminate the virus with 97% of the population immune to it. As long as people don't do stupid stuff.
Or let's be pessimistic and say only 80% of people get immunity and its not eliminated completely. That's still millions of lives saved, slower spreading due to herd immunity, etc.
