The best place I've ever lived in but I had to move , its just so expensive over there. I will definitely go back someday though, truly a peaceful haven, a place you want to live in when you feel like you don't belong anywhere else.

where in Alaska did you live? I moved to Ancorage in 2017

Been looking to visit Anchorage. Anchorage and Reykjavik, Iceland are the two cold spots I really want to visit.

I used to live up here as tiny child in the 80s. Before we moved to the lower 48. Took 30 some years to return

It was a nice, quiet place to live in, being at home just enjoying the snowfall, the dark winters seeing the Aurora Borealis, driving to Anchorage and seeing the mountains , seeing beautiful scenery, going to the nature preserve or the Alaska Natives museum. Besides that I have other personal memories there like getting married on the Presidential train at Pioneer Park.

You don't have to be super rich but you do need decent income, and Alaska is perfect if you want seclusion.

Alaska has always been a fantasy destination of mine. I should visit. I'll be living closer soon -- originally I was planning on sticking around in the Midwest, but I just interviewed for a job in Idaho and am strongly considering taking it.

I live in upstate NY , far from the city , its pretty decent here so no complains and it is cheaper but Alaska is just special. I also recommend that you want to see the Aurora , visit in the winter.

Alaska really is in a class of its own. I don't think I could ever afford to live there, but my God, it's a beautiful state and the people are wonderful. For my next visit, I'm hoping I can stay in Cordova during the Iceworm Festival. It sounds charming as hell, and Cordova is a cozy spot to begin with.

Since you're from North Pole, I just gotta say - North Pole Coffee has the best coffee I've ever tasted, full-stop. Even the choice shit in Seattle couldn't compare.

Im not sure about the best coffee, Im originally from Puerto Rico and PR coffee is godly, so that is my bias. I have another recommendation, Im pretty I've posted here in this topic alread...visit SEWARD is you want to see truly beautiful scenery.

Juneau's been a good place to be through the pandemic. Naturally about as isolated as it gets, generally good responses from the community that have kept cases low, and we've mostly had great weather so we can enjoy the outdoors away from others.
