Always disarm, only detonated one playthrough to see and do Tenpenny stuff, Megaton is easier to access to sell shit, instead of running through the Tenpenny tower.

Unless you're going for a deliberately evil play through blowing up Megaton actually makes the game more of a hassle since you lose access to everything there.

Yeah theres really no practical reason to blow it up, which sucks because the Tenpenny Tower suite is pretty cool.

it's so easy to repair you can practically do it accidentally, and it makes zero sense to detonate it. I've only blown it up specifically on an evil playthrough, but it's definitely not satisfying to do so.

I find it difficult to be evil, or even just an asshole, in games in general so I almost always disarm the bomb. Blew it up once just to see the explosion and that was it. Megaton's way to useful of a city anyway.

Most games give you very little actual incentive to be evil when it exists as a choice, which is a problem in my opinion, most of the time the evil choice in games is pretty much "for the lols".

So it makes choosing the good choice exceedingly easy. I would like more games to make the evil choice overwhelmingly more beneficial to your character (in a way that makes sense, not just to be funny), so there is actually temptation.

I was thinking of this, and I liked how in Mass Effect you could take either the calm and patient ("paragon") choice, or the impatient angry ("renegade") choice, because they often both felt like valid reactions, or sometimes one was more appropriate than the other.

but then, the problem there became that by giving rewards for maxing one side or the other, the game *encouraged* you to play only one of the two sides, effectively removing a large role-playing element from the game.

Most moral choice in games boils down to "Common Sense" versus "Murder this Puppy for No Reason, Because Bwuhaha!"
