Oof, those are pretty major. Nothing that will ruin your enjoyment of the series, though. In fact...I kind of wonder how your perception of The Mother of Dragons might be changed if you know her fate ahead of time, compared to people who expected her to be the queen at the end of the show.

How things happened has such a dramatic impact on them though that it can basically change the essence of what happened.

Bran being king because he has the best story is miles different from Bloodraven or the 3EC taking over his body and becoming king. Dany going mad because nobody likes her and she heard some bells is miles different than Dany was always bloodthirsty and likes conquering a lot better than ruling. In the context of Game of Thrones the show a lot of the things that happened in season 8 were really bad. The previous 2 things I mentioned, Arya killing the NK because who would expect it. Euron being a frat douche cosplaying as a pirate. I could go on and on.

Contrary to what a lot of people say, the show starts falling apart before they run out of books. The creators of the show didn't care as much for books 4 and 5, so they decided to pretty much just skip everything in them besides a few broad plot points, and add in random stuff they made up.

Season 4 for the most part is really good, but a few key things at the end ruin a certain characters motivation moving forward.

From season 5 and on, there are some cool scenes that feel awesome, but the writing overall is dumbed down quite a bit.

Yeah this is the big problem. IMO I even kinda like the last season short of the last episode, where all of the poor buildup just kind of exploded all over the place. I think the finale could have been fine, but we didn't get the development we needed to make everyone's final motivations really make sense. My opinion on the end was "that sounds like a reasonable ending, if I looked at where everyone was a jumped forward to the season finale in like 3 years" but we never got the middle part.

I would have been fine with Arya killing the Night King, as long as it at least kind of related to Jon's story, like if he at least brought Arya back to Winterfell, but otherwise we're just kind of lucky she happened to randomly wander home like 2 weeks before the long night. And tbh The Night King was lame AF, I don't at all mind him being gone in a single episode, unless he was going to like, win in the end and kill everyone (but the show can't end like that, its way too popular).

I also liked trashy Euron, was not a fan of edgy-edgelord Euron like the books.
