I just finished it. I don't see the disappointment that some had in the final season. It had a good ending. I will admit I was bummed to see Theon and Jaime killed off.

I can and cannot. I think I was less concerned about disappointment because the last thing to actually disappoint me was Kingdom Hearts III which caused me to lose all interest in the series. However that series had too many spin offs and that was always a concern. The show was great and I think a rewatch will help even more in enjoyment.

My concern is that you spent too much time texting/posting and as such didn't absorb the full experience of the show, so the shitty finale had less of an impact.

I paused often during it so I could post or take it all in. I know that with Breaking Bad I got full enjoyment of it on the second go around. I enjoyed it a lot here.

It was the goat show heading into the final season and somehow they not only managed to ruin it, they also retroactively made the entire show terrible and pointless.

For those that were disappointed, what was disappointing about it?

I am not saying the final season was perfect. I enjoyed it and I think a couple additional episodes would have helped is the only thing I would ask besides Jaime and Theon living instead of being killed off.

The list of disappointing things about the final season is endless but some big ones are how utterly pointless the whole White Walker plot was and how they gathered all these legendary fighters and Valyrian steel swords in the North and not one of them fought a white walker.

I thought going into the latter couple of seasons that the final battle would involve the White Walkers, so it was surprising to see that be midway through season 8. I wonder if things could have been changed to have the Battle of Kings Landing be when the Battle with the White Walkers. Either way it wasn't a problem in the long run.

They just rushed it too much. Should have been one season with buildup and the battle against the night king, then a season of dealing with Cersei + then they could have fleshed out Dany and Jons relationship and her snapping more

The early seasons, the journey was as good as the destination. The later seasons, it's all destination baby! We're zipping and teleporting all over the place in 2 mins. Jon Snow babbles about serving the queen for 7 episodes straight. The show finally gives us the revelation about Jon's heritage and telling his sisters about it and you don't even see them talk it out. Bran has a game changing power and it's not even a point of contention whatsoever.

The fucking white walkers ending in literally one episode after 7.5 seasons of buildup is all that needs to be said (which of course doesn't even include the disrespect to Bran's powers / Jon / Jaime's arc / etc), not to mention the writing in general losing quality.

Maybe a rewatch is what you need then? Idk it's just all a horrific clusterfuck that only happened because they were more focused on doing Star Wars next.

I am not sure if they are even doing anything with Star Wars now. I have heard next to nothing about the project since it was announced.

As for Conquest and Rebellion, it is an animated history of the seven kingdoms. It says it's 45 minutes long so it's a bit shorter than a standard episode.

They "decided" to "step down" from the SW trilogy they had been attached to, after the whole debacle with the last season of GoT, ostensibly because they are also doing some shitty Netflix original, and they didn't have enough "time" to do both projects, so obviously between a millions of dollars deal for three blockbuster Hollywood movies in one of the highest profile film franchises that exists and is now owned by DISNEY, and some shitty Netflix original, the obvious choice is to go with the shitty Netflix original, lol amirite?

What Netflix original? The only one I watch is Stranger Things.

One thing during the series that I enjoyed was seeing actors who have been in Star Wars (Julian Glover) prior to the show airing and those that would eventually be in Star Wars (Pedro Pascal) after the show started airing.

With the latter it led to references of Beskar in a certain episode late in Season 4.

That sounds about right. The show went from what evil thing is Joffrey going to do in this episode to what evil thing is Ramsay going to do in this episode? Or both in the same episode.

So we only part of The Known World in the series. It makes me wonder how much more of the world is there. is the a lot more to the north beyond the wall, is there more to the south of what is known. It would be interesting to see if all that is shown is only a tiny portion of the entire world that the show takes place on.

There's an interesting theory on the shape of the world and how the geography lines up. Where if you go far north enough you end up actually arriving from the far east. Some good threads and pictures if you Google it.

Lady Stoneheart is a name Catelyn Stark is given in the books. It is surprising for her to not have come back, but there could have been other reasons that prevented things. We may never know.

Strong Belwas from what I also read is a character that is from the books.

It had something to do with the actress and them not wanting to do that to her in the show or something. I really would have helped the show out a lot.

The end if the series is terrible though, and not much could have saved that aside from them taking up the offer to do another season/more episodes.
